The purpose of Ten Shin Sho Kai is to provide a self contained path to individual enlightenment through the physical practice of a martial way.
Contained within the techniques of the School and its teaching methodology are fundamental principles and practices designed to not only have a profound and direct effect upon the student, but also to give them the tools and insights to carry this over to the rest of their life.
It is the aim of Ten Shin Sho Kai to improve its students' lives physically, mentally and spiritually, by teaching them to live in accordance with the principles of Aiki, or harmony with energy/spirit.
This is first expressed along purely physical terms as a strategy of self defence, but eventually, through dedicated practice, becomes a way of life, with the ki expanding from that of an opponent to that of the universe itself.
By following the way of the warrior, students of Ten Shin Sho Kai learn to embody the virtues of:
